NDC’s reaction to Sammy Gyamfi’s VotersRegister Social Media Post.

Yesterday, the Communication secretary of the leading opposition party in Ghana,Sammy Gyamfi in an attempt to draw Ghanaians attention to the ongoing  voters’ register debate, posted tweeted an image using the recent killing of George  Floyd as an illustration to the message he wanted to carry across.

In the artwork, the EC Chair,Jean Mensa is seen suffocating voters with the new register and the president,Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo is seen assisting the EC boss.Unfortunately, the post have been condemned by well- meaning Ghanaians on social media and have been described as insensitive and unfortunate. It is the expectation of Ghanaians that should the NDC will disassociate themselves with this tweet.

The editor have scanned through various radio stations,TV stations, check press releases and monitored the NDC social media pages but they haven’t been any official position on the matter by the party.Since Sammy Gyamfi used social media to publish the artwork,it is expected that the retraction and apology must also be on social media because condemnation it has received on social media. These are the pages of the NDC and Sammy Gyamfi in reaction to Sammy Gyamfi’s post.

From the above posture of the parties involved on social media,it is obvious there won’t be any retraction and any apology to be rendered.
