Akuapem Poloo born Rosemond Brown caught the eyes of social media users as well as received some backlashes after posting nude photo of herself and her seven year-old son to celebrate his birthday on social media.
In effect, a statement earlier from the ministry and signed by Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison has highly condemned Akuapem Poloo’s act as indecent. It then classified it has an act of pornography, degrading and also against the Children’s Act, 1998 (Act 560) and the criminal and other offences Act, (Act 30). Therefore they will liaise with the appropriate agencies to the deal with issue as it continued to caution the public to desist from posting nudes on social media since it’s a serious offence.
Meanwhile, Akuapem Poloo is yet to honor the invitation by the police in order for her to be investigated on her act. However, on Tuesday, Akuapem Poloo apologized for posting the photos she posted earlier on social media.
According to her, she was trying to send a message by using her photos as an “artistic impression” and she did not mean to hurt anyone. In a viral video on social media, she said
“What I was saying was that, no matter how naked you see your parent, don’t run away from them. Get close to them and cloth them but nakedness doesn’t mean a person is mad or whatever”
