Disney and Pixar‘s new trailer for Lightyear has shed some more light on the mysterious Toy Story spin-off movie.

Marvel’s Chris Evans puts on the spacesuit in this all-new feature film set within the world of Toy Story, as Tim Allen’s hero is getting the biopic he most definitely deserves.

Here, Buzz and his Star Command team have been stuck on the ground for a full year but are now ready for their first test flight. As Buzz ventures off into space, he’s thrust into battle with Emperor Zurg and his army of really, really big robot soldiers.

It’s a showdown so epic, it makes Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader look positively silly by comparison. After all, if Buzz really does want to go to infinity and beyond, he must conquer Zurg’s iron grip on the galaxy!

“Let’s get everyone home,” he vows to his team in this latest trailer.

To help Buzz win this star war, he has a robot cat to help him sleep easier at night (or not, it seems). The footage, set to David Bowie’s ‘Starman’, certainly makes Lightyear look suitably epic.

The film is being directed by Angus MacLane, a Pixar veteran who has previously cut his teeth with the Toy Story of Terror Halloween special and then also rose the ranks to co-direct Finding Dory.

The voice cast for Lightyear includes Hollywood legend James Brolin as Emperor Zurg, as well as Nope‘s Keke Palmer, Marvel’s Taika Waititi, Orange is the New Black‘s Uzo Aduba and Dale Soules as supporting characters.

Lightyear is out on June 17 in the UK and US.
